Description & Application:
Strawberry and Cream Coloured natural spiral troca shell. Add a splash of colour and memories of warm summer days to nature bowls and glass vases.

Background: The name troca refers to how the shell rotates on its own axis, from the Greek word trokhoeides - meaning wheel like.
The shells are common in indo-pacific regions, and many have a thick inner layer of nacre (mother of pearl) which is exposed on polished troca shells.

These shells have been successfully used as Hermit Crab homes, within the pack shells will have a variety of openings from 10mm to 20mm

Troca Shells in History: Large species of troca shell (trochus niloticus) have been used for hundreds of years to make mother of pearl buttons.
